Description (Position Goal):  In collaboration with building staff, to cultivate a safe and supportive school climate and culture that nurtures the development of the whole child through proactive and positive student interventions and supports to improve the safety, social competence, and academic achievement for all students.

NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance

Essential Functions: The Student Success Coach is responsible for the behavioral assessment of students, generating and implementing behavioral plans to remediate behavioral and social problems for students in general or special education programs. She/he is also available for consultation to school personnel and parents of these students. 

The role of the Student Success Coach is to facilitate, assess and support instructional programs for students in general and special education; provide training and work collaboratively with teachers, aides and support staff to demonstrate best practices, strategies and techniques to enhance instruction for students with social, communication, behavioral and learning challenges.

Applicants for the Education Assistant and Student Success Coach positions listed above are REQUIRED to be Highly Qualified, which is defined as: Two (2) years of college (Minimum of 48 Semester Hours, or 72 Quarter Hours), or possess an Associate’s Degree, or passed the Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment Exam.

 

Applicants must submit a copy of their Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment Exam results, or a copy of their college transcript(s) to verify their Highly Qualified Status. Applicants must also have a valid Educational Aide Permit, or obtain one immediately upon being employed with the Canton City School District. If you do not meet the criteria for Highly Qualified, you are not eligible to apply.
