NOTE: Must submit resume and two letters of reference
Essential Functions:
- Supervises the High School Volleyball program in total; game contests, scrimmages, practices (when applicable)
- Administer High School Volleyball in an efficient and professional manner
- Collaborate with community partners in the development of a comprehensive K-12 youth program
- Monitors and supports academic needs of individual students
- Check player grades
- Download and breakdown player film
- Submit statistics to media
- Practice conditioning
- Scout other teams
- Clearly communicate with coaches/families regarding practice times, site, etc.
- Communicate with parents as necessary regarding athletics and athletic issues
- Ensure beginning of season meeting is scheduled with parents
- Provide necessary paperwork for student athletes (physicals, concussion, emergency medical, travel releases, etc.) and ensure that all forms are collected and maintained appropriately
- Communicate with administration any issues with coaches and student athletes that should come to their attention
- Ensure that OHSAA rules and guidelines are followed; Ensure all student athletes are eligible per OHSAA guidelines
- Ensure safety of students
- Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required
- Provide guidance and counsel to the students which will promote their welfare and their proper educational development
- Technology appropriate for assignment
- Maintain and improve professional competence
- Observe ethics of the coaching profession; exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgment
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
- Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student grades
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model for students
- Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports, Recreation and Physical Education, Athletic Director and Building Principal
Qualifications:
- Head coaching experience preferred
- Is knowledgeable of OHSAA and CCSD guidelines and regulations
- Is knowledgeable in game administration, scheduling, securing officials, etc.
- Able to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
- Able to work with administrators, coaches, officials, parents and student athletes in a positive manner
- State of Ohio Pupil Activity Permit
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate

Additional Working Conditions:
- Occasional requirement to travel daily and overnight
- Occasional interaction among unruly children
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue
- Frequent requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop
- Frequent operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions, i.e., being prepared to come to work on all scheduled work days, except calamity days
- Frequent weekend/evening/summer work
- Requirement to lift and/or carry up to a maximum of 75 pounds, and push/pull up to a maximum of 300 pounds, various supplies and/or equipment
